Japanese by Living Language App Reviews

Before purchasing this, please keep in mind that it is to accompany the textbooks as a portable review source. You could use it as a stand alone tool if you wanted, but I dont think thats a brilliant idea considering there is no writing practice with the kanas or kanji in the app and part of learning a language is learning how to write it. With that being said, I genuinely enjoy this app and I use it a lot

So, this seems like an interesting product, but if I cant hear the Japanese spoken aloud, well, its a bit pointless isnt it? I push the little play symbol in the flash cards, but nothing. I suppose I could reinstall, but, meh.

The button to turn off the Romanji actually turns off the hiragana and katakana. It works correctly for the flash cards. Be great if that could be fixed !!

Romaji button still doesnt work right, and program crashes on at least one practice game. If updated would be good basic intro to Japanese.

Im going to Japan my junior year of high school. This is decent for helping me learn my basics greetings/etc. I wish it were free but its way more cheaper than the hundreds of dollars Id spend on Rosetta stone, and is just as effective. Otherwise great app for getting you started, just wish there were apps like this free that taught you more lessons for free.

This program is awesome to brush up on basic Japanese! Theres a lot of useful vocabulary to aid in learning. It would be great if you could offer a more advanced speakers of Japanese.

I purchased this app and enjoy using it on my iPad. However, the data does not transfer over to my iPhone. Cant get any response from developer. :(

I absolutely love this app. One of the most efficient resources for learning a new language. It would be nice of I could make an account without having to purchase platinum edition. I already bought the Complete edition book set, and I even bought the full editions in both iPhone and iPad. It would be wonderful if I could sync my progress across all of my devices. I would really appreciate that.

I paid $9.99 for the full set of courses and it will not download on my iPhone 5S 16GB, when I go to the store the app crashes.

Ive been traveling back and forth to Japan for years, finally settling down in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. As an American trying to learn an Asian language this app was absolutely essential. It is both intuitive and user friendly. Ive studied languages all my life and this app uses all the best tools and mnemonic devices to get you speaking properly. Highly recommended.

Its is a great compliment towards the Japanese course of living language no issues.

the last update of Japanese by The Living Language made technical problems worse, rather than better, this program is a great program the best language program Ive engaged in practice with, however unusable with this erroneous last update. five star though to the language learning method, it is very comprehensible.

The app crashes after the last update on ios 7.

This app crashes upon startup. Cant do anything!

The application is very useful, great actually I have learned a lot but it stopped launching and its giving me issues with iOS 7 iPad 3.

I found a six year olds Japanese fluency game that covered more than this, thats all I have to say

I really love this app. Its very easy to follow along with and the subject matter is awesome. I really like it because I can be doing a task at work and go through the flash cards for each section. I would definitely recommend the download and full purchase to someone wanting to learn Japanese.
